“You shall have no other gods before me!“

Actually this sounds like an advertising slogan. “Don’t buy their product, buy ours.” It sounds like someone who is afraid of losing a competition. Other than that, I don’t believe ‘God’ was the first one who said that. So why believe ‘this’ god and not any other god before him?
