Kill the Gay?

Leviticus 20:13
“And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.“
I’m anxious to know what their excuse is this time..
So what can we learn from the bible?
What am i supposed to tell my children?
Do I have to hire a translator to understand the bible?
Why can’t someone write the bible in a way everybody understands?
Or would this just be another (mis-) interpretation?

I think that no matter how something is written, people will always interpret it differently. I think we would have confusion just like now.

Gambian President Yahya Jammeh says he will “cut off the head” of any homosexual caught in his country.

Well, you could tell that this is an ancient text, from a time when there were fewer Christians, and so procreation was important to make sure they out numbered subscribers to other religions.
Or, since the rest of Leviticus tells them not to play football or eat shellfish, you could tell them to simply disregard it.

There is no excuse. The hatred and villification of homosexuals is inexcusable.
Try “The Message” the man who transcribed that version has attempted to do so in a manner that all (English speakers) can understand. Interestingly, he doesn’t use the word homosexual, and he translates the first instance of “mankind” in your quoted verse as shrine prostitute, I believe.
Of course, those who wish to adhere to the primitive ways will tell you this is not a true translation, though.

You know your blog was able to stay me to read all the posts. It is only one I have found of this niche. Regarding the post, I think people are changing and deriving what they want and they interpret it in their own way. Perhaps we need someone powerful and mighty to deliver it right.

I agree with ’stair lift’ people read into these things the way they think it should be. And as for ‘kill the gay’ why? just because he is different, its hardly a sin now is it?
